SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES
Simba for Kids identifies and supports families not able to support their for a full year with the objective to allow them to become independent. The association is launching several projects to help these families, such as the construction of chicken coops, toilets, wells and start-up aid for small local businesses.
Simba for Kids organizes a monthly community meeting in the various villages around Iten in order to exchange and encourage the inhabitants, mainly women, who are fighting against alcoholism, precariousness and floods. Simba also encourages birth control.
The priority of Simba for Kids is to make sure that every child can go to school and eat as much as they want. The association finances uniforms, contributes to school fees and offers food supplies to families.
DISTRIBUTION OF FOOD AND NECESSITY GOODS
Each month Simba for Kids visits families and brings them a box of 15kg of corn, 4kg of rice, 4kg of sugar, 2kg of wheat flour, 1kg of salt, 3kg of oil, 500g of tea, sanitary napkins , toothpaste and toothbrushes.
Julien and Lavina take the time to speak with the parents to find out if everything is going well and encourage them. They also play with children and never leave without a smile.

CONSTRUCTION OF TOILETS
Hygiene is a priority for Simba for Kids which supports the construction of wooden toilets for villages and schools.
Each construction offers work to many Kenyans.

FARMING HELP
Simba For Kids instructs families how to farm their land so that they can grow their own food.

RAINWATER COLLECTION
Simba for Kids installs gutters and offers water tanks to families. They will allow them to drink, cook food, wash and clean clothes.
Women and children no longer have to travel long distances to fetch water from the source.

USE OF SOLAR ENERGY
This sustainable energy source allows locals to benefit from a few hours of light at dusk. Light is essential for children to do their homework in the evening.

STORAGE SPACE
CONSTRUCTION
Some families need storage space to be able to store their corn or potato harvest and their tools (wheelbarrows, shovels, etc.)

EXTERNAL INFRASTRUCTURE
One of Simba for Kids' first projects was the renovation of a wooden walkway, which is very popular with children from the Oldoldol region to get to school.
MATTRESSES AND COVERS
Simba for Kids offers mattresses and blankets to families who sleep directly on the floor.

HOMES CONSTRUCTION
Simba for Kids builds small houses for families living in overly crowded conditions in old and small huts, built with earth or wood.
EXCEPTIONAL EMERGENCY HELP
During the COVID-19 health crisis in 2020, Simba for Kids offered emergency food aid to families it identified as extremely vulnerable. Rice, sugar, salt, oil, wheat flour and also detergent and soap were distributed to 25 families.
Two water containers were also offered to the community.

POULTRY CONSTRUCTION
Chicken farming has worked, Children are happily looking at the newly born chicks.
This is a sustainable production of food and a potential source of future income for the family.
